(This is a place for all the things that don't fit anywhere else)

-I actually work as a Master Electrician in Local 103 in Boston. I've been in the trade for 22  years working in or around Boston.

-At the end of every cooking show I read a poem having to do with that shows recipes. I try to write these food related rhymes a week before taping the episodes. I usually wind up doing it the night before, or even 5 minutes before.

-I also write and sing songs about food on the guitar. I play a song every 4th or 5th episode, or as the mood strikes me. The songs started out as fill-in time, when I would run out of things to cook too soon. I would just play some blues and sing about eating chicken or whatever came to mind. I try to write the songs now before playing them on the show. Writing songs and poems was always easy for me, even as a child. It was the one thing I could do without trying.

-Juggling is often part of the 'Lost in the Sauce' show. I like to juggle peppers and fruit whenever possible. There really is no reason for it, just one of  those things I like to do. I think it helps me focus when I'm out of synch with the pace of the episode. I really have to be aware of time and sequencing of the cooking, or I am in big trouble.

LITS Trivia- The 100th show will actually be my 101st show. I accidentally numbered 2 different shows the same number a few years ago. If you know which 2 have the same number you would truly be a fan.

A poem from the book...

There are may who say, there will soon come a day
when all food will be picked from the ground
If the soil is rich, and the farm is your niche
then the bounty is sure to astound
There are peppers and beans, and the old southern greens
and a host of potatoes to choose
Then there's all kinds of fruit, from the tree to the root
as you see, you really can't lose
Have them cooked, better raw, turn the whole thing into slaw
any way that you choose will be great
You are sure to agree, from the pod to the pea
that the earth brings the best to your plate!
